Print Projects
Project Overview
I was tasked with creating printed materials to communicate the programs and mission of MOAA Charities for distribution at the Total Force Plus conference. The goal was to create materials that clearly communicated key information while remaining visually engaging, easy to navigate, and consistent with the existing MOAA Charities brand guidelines.
Design Approach
Because the materials were intended for a conference environment, I focused on creating a visual hierarchy that would allow readers to quickly understand the most important information. I used typography, sizing, spacing, and placement to establish a clear reading order and guide the viewer through the content without making the layouts feel overcrowded.
I worked within the existing MOAA Charities visual identity to ensure the materials felt cohesive with the organization's established branding.
The final deliverables included a 4 × 9 rack card and a 5.5 × 8.5 flyer designed using Canva.
Skills Demonstrated
This project allowed me to apply skills in print design, typography, visual hierarchy, information organization, brand consistency, layout design, and Canva.
Project Overview
The goal of this project was to create banners for the MOAA Charities booth at the Total Force Plus Conference. The banners needed to communicate the organization's mission and programs in a way that could be quickly understood by attendees from a distance or while walking past the booth.
Design Approach
Because the banners would be displayed in a busy conference environment, readability and visual hierarchy were key considerations throughout the design process. I focused on presenting information in a concise format, allowing attendees to quickly get a snapshot of MOAA Charities' programs without needing to stop and read large amounts of text.
I used typography, spacing, and strategic placement of information to create a clear visual hierarchy and ensure the most important messaging stood out from a distance. I worked within the existing MOAA Charities brand guidelines to ensure the banners felt cohesive with the organization's overall visual identity.
The final deliverables included two large-format banners designed specifically for the conference booth. Both banners were created using Canva.
Skills Demonstrated
This project allowed me to apply skills in large-format design, typography, visual hierarchy, information organization, brand consistency, print design, and Canva.
Project Overview
I had the opportunity to create student-focused campaign designed to increase engagement with participants in the Education Assistance Program. As part of the campaign, I designed a waterproof sticker that students could use on laptops, water bottles, and other everyday items.
Design Approach
The primary challenge was creating something that would appeal to a college-aged audience while still feeling consistent with the established MOAA Scholarship Fund brand. I wanted the sticker to feel fun, modern, and something students would want to use. I first illustrated the design in Procreate, using my Apple Pencil to create the artwork. I then brought the illustration into Adobe Illustrator and vectorized the artwork, allowing me to create a clean, scalable design suitable for professional printing.
Skills Demonstrated
This project allowed me to apply skills in illustration, brand application, audience-focused design, Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, and vectorization. It also challenged me to think about how an established brand can be adapted into a more playful and approachable visual style for a younger audience.
